Tianchi x Moscow State University Hackathon - IJCAI Alimama Advertising Algorithm Competition

Alibaba and the International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI) came together to develop a competition to disrupt the advertising industry through breakthrough algorithms. Alibaba Tianchi’s partnership with Moscow State University’s (MSU), globally renowned for computer & science, engineering and other disciplines brings the unique opportunity of holding this Hackathon on MSU premises on April 20th & 21st. 2 days of competing in teams to develop breakthrough algorithms, get access to real-business data sets, learning cutting-edge coding skills and getting the opportunity to earn cash prizes and access to Alibaba management. Although the Hackathon at MSU runs over 2 days, there is a parallel global competition already open, you can participate in both!

 

Day 1. April 20: 18.00 - 23.00 MSK - Auditorium MSU Main building

 

Day 2. April 21: 10.00 - 18.00 MSK - MSU 


Hackathon awards:


1st place

USD 500 + directly qualify to global competition semi-final + 1 hour coaching with Alibaba manager + certificate + gift

2nd place

USD 300 + 1 hour coaching with Alibaba manager + certificate + gift

3rd place

USD 200 + 1 hour coaching with Alibaba manager + certificate + gift


The Hackathon:


Sponsored search is one of the most popular marketing approaches in today’s internet ecosystem. Merchants (advertisers) set several keywords for their products, and these products will be presented to the customers who search these keywords. By the end of 2017, the gross revenue from sponsored search has been more than 100 billion, which exceeds 50% of the overall incomes of internet advertising. Sponsored search contributes the majority of revenue for most Internet companies, such as Google and Facebook. Due to its technical challenges and commercial values, Sponsored search has been widely studied in the industrial and research areas all over the world.


Eligibility: You may form a team with at most 3 members.


Awards: over USD 20,000 and travel support
