Serverless computing is a cloud computing execution model in which the cloud provider dynamically manages the allocation of machine resources. Pricing is based on the actual amount of resources consumed by an application, rather than on pre-purchased units of capacity.
In Alibaba Cloud, we strive to make life easier for developers. Less management of servers mean less chance of breaking the servers.
In this session, we will learn what is serverless application and how to run a simple serverless application.
Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) is flexible and scalable. Combining Function Compute with API Gateway, we can build FaaS style backend services to handle API requests.
Function Compute provides an event trigger mechanism to easily build a full data processing pipeline. An OSS upload action can trigger multiple functions to process OSS objects for data transcoding and extraction.

Max Meiden
Max is a Solutions Architect from Alibaba Cloud. Prior to work in Alibaba Cloud, he was working in another cloud company and has experience ranging from Development, System Administrator and DevOps. His current focus at the moment is to help users architect highly scalable, available, cost-effective solutions on the Alibaba Cloud platform.
