Overview

While cybercrime is a global business, China is a unique case study for security researchers. Some of the attack trends that are currently peaking in the Middle Kingdom have not been seen in the west for some time, and at the same time, several attack types that only recently surfaced in the West has been popular in China for many years.

In this webinar, we will provide multiple examples based on our February 2019 security report see here: link, to demonstrate the "distinctiveness" of China's cybersecurity climate. These include the latest trends in DDoS attacks, web attacks, web shells, trojans, and others.

    Dr. Thanh Nguyen has 12+ years of experience in academia and industry. Together with the team, she is building data-driven algorithms that address security challenges within Alibaba Cloud. She has multiple patents related to DNS security and got her PhD degree in Computer Science from University of Utah.

  • Ali Fakeri-Tabrizi

    Principal Data Scientist at Alibaba Cloud

    Dr. Ali Fakeri-Tabrizi is Principal Data Scientist at Alibaba Cloud. His main area of interest are Machine learning modeling and data analysis for Cyber-security applications. He got a PhD degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence from Sorbonne Université, France.
