• 1. Q: If Singles day is running on Alibaba Cloud - does it affect other customers/users who are using your cloud services during the event?

  A: Hello! Great question - and the answer is "no". Alibaba has significant scale with regards to our cloud resources across our 9 Regions and 39 Availability Zones in Mainland China. Also - with scheduled major events such as Singles Day - Alibaba engineers take the additional precaution of reviewing required capacity with a healthy margin of error. So neither customers of Singles Day, nor customers of Alibaba Cloud, will suffer any poor performance.

• 2. Q: How do I purchase/pay for Alibaba Cloud Services?

  A: Great question! If you .cn website is being hosted in Mainland China - either on a server(s) in China or via CDN in China - then you need an ICP Filing as a minimum. • 5. Q: As compared to other with other Cloud Service Providers like Microsoft, AWS, etc, Alibaba has a Direct Connect from Alibaba Mainland China Datacenter to other countries. Will there be any compliance issues with the existing China Cybersecurity Law? Most Cloud Service Providers in China have datacenters that are isolated within Mainland China, meaning to say they are not allowed to have a link from their Datacenter in Mainland China to outside of Mainland China. Just curious to understand.

  A: Hello! Great question - the service you are talking about is Cloud Enterprise Network and provides connectivity between our various Cloud regions - including Mainland China. Alibaba provides a fast and highly stable network connection fully compliant under various regulatory requirements - but this does not remove the customer's obligations to adhere to government regulatory requirements such as CSL and ICP.
