Overview

Getting into the Chinese (digital) market can seem to be a very challenging task and difficult to get it right. Legal entities, ICP filing & licensing, cyber security measures and local cloud infrastructure all need to be in place for you to reach your customers. Jumpstarting and overseeing all these aspects at the same time will likely cause you to be lost in the maze, and you wouldn't be the first to actually give up on the Chinese market altogether. You need a plan.

In this session, Léon will explain that you don't need to tackle all these challenges at the same time to actually start providing services in China and become successful there. Based on previous experience working with international companies that entered the Chinese market and a strong partnership with Alibaba Cloud, he will draw out a more iterative plan, so you can tackle the "China challenge" in baby steps instead of one giant leap. The plan will cover both technical and legal milestones, so you can start your journey with confidence.

Topics

  1. Tackle the challenges of a digital China
  2. Data management dos and don'ts
  3. legal milestones

QA section

  • 1. Q: Will it be difficult for a European customer to work with a Chinese local partner in terms of cultural difference and language barriers?

    A:

If you choose to work with a partner that is also familiar with the European market, like Alibaba Cloud, I think the cultural differences and language barriers won't be a problem. You can contact Alibaba in Paris, in English, and work together to get your solution up and running in China.

  • 2. Q: For Cloud Enterprise Network, what if there is a package loss or the like somewhere along the way?

    A:

Because you are working with a dedicated bandwidth line on Cloud Enterprise Network, you will not get any packet loss on your connection from China to Europe. High packet loss is one of the properties of the Chinese public internet, so by utilizing a dedicated line that doesn't go over that public internet, you can have a stable connection from/to China.
